It is rare that I get a day of on weekdays and more rare that I get to travel for a photo-shoot. Luckily, I got the chance to do both this week. Along with a few friends, we headed to the famous Reiek Tlang, just outside Aizawl City.
I had been to Reiek Tlang a few times. But I haven't been to this side of the elevation. The beauty found there was awesome. I got out of the car and had to take a few seconds to take in the beauty. The sun was perfect, the lightning was excellent, the sky had a few clouds but it made the scenery more dramatic. I took out my trusty Nikon D7000 and started to shoot.
As I started shooting and searching for a good vantage point to take more shots, I looked up to my left and there was Sangzuala Pachuau already perched high up on the side of the hill, clicking away. My immediate reaction was to get to higher grounds.
And did I? No! I may have had made a few feet off the main road to the side of the hill, but my rather "healthy" (some call it fluffy :D) body would not allow me to get to those heights. So, I was confined to the road to get the best framed pictures possible.
After almost half an hour, I was still in awe at the magnificent beauty that was surrounding me. And all this just a few kilometers from the city. I was speechless for most periods, except for the usual joking around with the other guys.
After almost an hour at the site, we all gathered exchanging cameras to see what the others made of the scene. And for one final time took it all in. I thought to myself, that I am so fortunate. Fortunate enough to live in such a place with tremendous beauty.
"Through the lens of my camera,
I glimpse the wonder of God's creations;
So that an insignificant person like me,
Can find grace and rejoice in jubilation"
